Arteska House of Art is a small cultural centre in Detva, which was established in 2019 in the premises of a former school. It focuses mainly on professional, independent, alternative and minority culture and on new and experimental formats with interdisciplinary overlap. It uses the space for the presentation, creation, education, social cultivation and elevation of cultural awareness in the region of folklore and traditions.
In its activities it reflects the specificities of the region, creates functional collaborations with local organisations, supports school projects and participates in the co-creation of cultural life in the region.
The Centre's dramaturgy consists of concerts, theatre, performance, dance, children's shows, workshops, creative activities, discussions, film screenings, residencies ...
Within community life, we focus on environmental issues, current social issues and tolerance. We work with minorities and community centres and focus on youth education. The centre includes a community garden.
