Dear Mr. Mayor,

 

We would like to support the activities of our member, cultural center Diera do Sveta, with this letter. We believe their work is very important for the inhabitants and visitors of the city of Liptovský Mikuláš. We would also like to appeal to you as a mayor for help and support of this unique project.

Cultural center Diera do Sveta is run by people who are not only enthusiastic and passionate about their work and their city but who are also qualified professionals. They are well known and respected by their fellow professional artists. Their work, which they are motivated to do by their passion and by their positive relationship towards the city they live in, is truly admirable.

For the past 6 years, cultural center Diera do Sveta has been creating a program, which has a unique composition, and which serves as a reaction to the current social issues. In times of information overload and growing pressure of mass pop culture on society, cultural center Diera do Sveta represents an island, which offers an alternative for your city. It offers a program, which is of great artistic value and is not afraid to address sensitive social issues. We believe that cultural center Diera do Sveta should have its place in Liptovský Mikuláš.

We would kindly like to ask you, as a competent authority, to help cultural center Diera do Sveta, which is currently worried about losing the spaces where it operates (also because of the difficult COVID-19 pandemic situation). We think that Diera do Sveta should continue to elevate the space of the county house in which it resides and carries out its work. We believe that this place should serve the inhabitants and that the city should support the work of its talented artists, organizers, and initiators of social life. These people also create the city.

It is you, Mr. Mayor, who has the power to support a good deed and help cultural center Diera do Sveta to continue their work.

In the name of our organization, which connects 27 independent cultural centers throughout Slovakia, we would like to appeal to you to help Diera do Sveta. At this moment, it is the space rental, which is crucial in allowing the center to continue its work and serve inhabitants and visitors of your city. 

The cooperation of districts and independent culture is a standard practice in modern countries. We are confident that our country and our cities can be called modern as well.
