The Wave Cultural Centre was established in 2002, making it the longest running facility of its kind in Prešov and its activities are known throughout Slovakia. Throughout its history, it has organised over two thousand events of various kinds to offer the people of Prešov an alternative to mainstream culture. Subsequently, in 2011, the civic association Wave was founded, which brings together artists and people involved in the organisation of cultural events in the cultural centre. In addition to organizing our own events in the field of music, visual arts, new media, film, entertainment and educational formats, events for children, workshops or lecture evenings dedicated to civic communities, we support cooperation with active associations in the region and in Slovakia, which facilitates their mutual cooperation and contributes to the creation of other cultural events and festivals. At the end of 2014, we created a permanent exhibition for the Brain Sneezing Gallery in our new loft space in collaboration with RRA PRERAG.
