Akropola Kremnica

The Akropola Cultural Centre was established in the former Partizán Cinema, which was built in the 1950s. Since 2007, the building has been operated by the 1115 Civic Association, which has adapted it (and continues to adapt it) and uses it as a multifunctional cultural space. Because of its resemblance to the ancient Parthenon, the space was given the name Akropola. In addition to film screenings and the activities of the Partizan Film Club, cultural and social events, theatre performances, concerts, discussions, lectures, quizzes and swaps are organised here.

Indoor events are held in the large hall or in a smaller event space, in the foyer.

Since 2016, the cinema has three screening spaces. In addition to the main hall with 350 seats and the foyer, another one has been added, which is called the Loudspeaker Room. The upstairs room with twelve seats is mainly used for art productions intended primarily for members of the Partizan Film Club, especially during the winter heating season. The smaller room was originally the office of the cinema manager, later used as a storage room for equipment.

During the summer months, KC Akropola organises open air events and mini festivals in the park. During the summer, a summer cinema is built in front of the Akropola, where viewers can watch films from the terrace. In case of good weather, concerts and all other events are also held on the terrace.

Akropola operates a film bar with refreshments during events and in the summer months. The Film Bar is a non-smoking venue with a terrace in the Akropola cinema, also suitable for children, equipped for leisure activities and games. By visiting the bar you will support the activities of the 1115 civic association.
