Divadlo Na Peróne

Theatre Na Peróne was founded in 2005 in Košice. Through its author's work, it intuitively, with insight and kindness, brings its view of the world and invites a discussion between the creator and the viewer. In addition to the author's work, the company has expanded its spectrum to include performances, international collaborations, educational workshops, and work for both secondary school audiences and children's audiences. Recently, the creators like to reach for already written texts in which the smaller inner worlds of individuals are concentrated. They are motivated by the need to respond to sensitive, social issues. They see the viewer not only as a passive observer, but also engage in a dialogue with them and encourage them to think critically.

Currently, the repertoire includes 5 productions, tours and participation in theatre festivals in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, France, Germany, Bulgaria, Norway, England, Sweden and the USA, cooperation with a number of organizations and individuals working in the field of art in Slovakia and abroad. In 2023, Slovakia was represented at the Prague Quadrennial festival.

After fifteen years of creative residencies in cultural centres, it has decided to take another significant step - in 2020 it opened its own theatre space focused on theatre and performing arts, which not only provides facilities for the creation of its performances, but also serves as a residential studio, hosts other theatre companies, supports student art projects, and educates children and adults through theatre arts.
